Pandora looks to expand artist messaging

Pandora cube canvas 160wPandora has taken a step forward with its Artist Messaging plans. The online radio service has updated its terms of use with language about communication with artists. “When you create a station, you may receive communications from or related to artist(s) associated with that station by or on behalf of Pandora,” the document now reads.

The company started testing audio messages from artists in February. These brief audio recordings that will air in playlists based on their music. The feature got a limited rollout at the start of the year, but Pandora’s documentation change points to an expansion with that tool, which is part of its Artist Management Platform. AMP gives musicians more tools to understand and analyze their performance on the platform.
