On the Move: Hiring from MixRadio, new additions for Gaana and Spotify Asia

On the Move tracks hires, promotions, and other notable personnel changes within the online audio industry.

Universal Music Group has hired Jonathan Dworkin as its new senior vice president of digital strategy and business development. Dworkin previously served as chief marketing officer for MixRadio. He also did a stint at Warner Music Group, where he ran partner negotiations with the major streaming services.

India-based streaming company Gaana has hired a new chief operating officer. Prashan Agarwal joins the music company after several years spent as an Internet startup co-founder. He also held leadership positions at Sapient and GE Infrastructure before being hired by parent company Times Internet.

Spotify announced that Ong Sea Yen is its new regional vice president of sales in Asia. Ong will be based in Spotify’s Singapore office and will drive advertising revenue and strategy for the Asian market.
