Nielsen has entered a deal with Nashville-based startup Jammber around song creation data. Jammber helps track the different stages of music production to streamline what is traditionally a fragmented workflow that makes tracking rights and licensing a challenge. Nielsen will be disclosing further details about the partnership as Jammber data are integrated into its tools.
“The song creation data Jammber captures at the studio level will help power new charts, improve discovery on streaming platforms and will positively impact the lives of creatives all over the world by ensuring credit is given where credit is due,” said Marcus Cobb, Jammber founder and CEO.
“Nielsen Music is committed to providing measurement and insights across the greater music ecosystem,” said Erin Crawford, SVP of Nielsen Entertainment and GM Music. “Working at the intersection of technology and music, Jammber is uniquely capable of collecting information that contributes to our overall mission.”
