Rhapsody-owned Napster launched in Canada today. The ad-free premium music service is offering subscriptions costing C$9.99 a month, but it has a launch offer of three months for just C$1.
“It was important to us that we enter Canada with a personalized music experience that has a complete catalogue of local, national and international artists,” said Napster CFO Ethan Rudin. Napster’s Canadian catalog includes more than 35 million songs with cross-platform listening and offline playback. It also includes features such as Napster KIDS (which Rhapsody introduced last month) and personalized Music Inbox recommendations.
