Midroll Media announced the launch of a new podcast network called Wolfpop. The company is an end-to-end podcast production outfit which formed earlier this year through the merger of the Earwolf humor podcast network and The Mid Roll advertising service.
The new network is curated by Paul Scheer, an actor and comedian with credits on The League, NTSF:SD:SUV::, and How Did This Get Made? The 13 new titles are hosted by entertainment and cultural leaders such as film critic Leonard Maltin, writer/actress Sarah Thyre, author Susan Orlean, and comedian W. Kamau Bell.
The press release did not offer much detail about whether this company will use its special expertise to test out new ad concepts. The network’s launch advertisers are audiobook service Audible and popular game Cards Against Humanity. The shows are available for free in iTunes and on the Wolfpop website.
