Libsyn launches “social movement” initiative for Women’s History Month

Podcast hosting/tech company Libsyn today released plans for illuminating and amplifying the voices of women in podcasting, as part of Women’s History Month. The company calls its initiative a social movement. It’s a grassroots effort to shine spotlights on women in the field.

The initiative has three main parts:

Libsyn has convened a community of women podcast professionals, hoping to leverage their social channels to accelerate conversations around gender equality. Following are some of the podcasters involved:

In a second prong of the initiative a podcast database will highlight a series of podcasts about podcasting led by women. That list of content will be featured by several podcatcher apps and presenters: Castro, Goodpods, Overcast, Podchaser, Podcast Business Journal, and She Podcasts.

Finally, Libsys in joining forces with She Podcasts, an educational, community, podcast, and live-event series created for women and non-binary producers, in a panel discussion. It will be presented on Thursday, March 17, at 4pm ET. (Register HERE.)
