Indies can opt into Facebook direct licensing deal before March 12

Facebook has been busily amassing licensing deals with several music industry leaders, and one is of particular interest for independent publishers and songwriters. The social network inked a deal with Harry Fox Agency/Rumblefish to create a standardized music licensing and administration deal for indies. According to a blog post from TuneRegistry, indies looking to participate in the direct license agreement need to sign on by March 12.

Joining the agreement would allow independent publishers and songwriters to monetize instances when their work is used on any of Facebook’s platforms, which includes Instagram and Oculus as well as the eponymous social network. TuneRegistry has complete details on the sign-up process for interested parties.
