Research company eMarketer has conducted a global survey of podcast listening, from which it has formulated a projection of global reach to 2024. In addition, eMarketer has released a table showing reach by country in 18 regions.
First things first: the global podcast listening projection:
Note that the blue growth line, representing global reach, is the percentage of internet users, not a raw population metric. We also observe a slowing rate of growth projected, implying a near-stasis sometime in future years.

Note that the 40% of U.S. internet users nearly matches the 40% reported by Edison Research / Triton Digital Infinite Dial report released in March.
