French music industry group SNEP has published its H1 results, which saw digital sources continuing to grow despite an overall dip in revenue. SNEP reported a decrease of 2.3% in revenue to €189.5 million for the period.
The digital market now accounts for 55% of total music revenue in France. Streaming revenue is responsible for 84% of that digital share and 47% of the total French music market. Revenue from streaming posted a 27.3% increase to €87.5 million for the period.
Physical formats have taken a tumble in France. After holding a 68% share of the total music market in H1 2016, the sector has dropped to a share of 48% in H1 2017.
