Instagram is starting to take advantage of the music licensing deals secured by parent company Facebook. The social media platform’s latest feature is support for adding music tracks to Instagram Stories. This is available on both iOS and Android versions of the Instagram app in Australia, France, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, the UK, and the U.S. Instagram Stories are photos or video clips that are only viewable for 24 hours and then are deleted, a service within the social platform that currently has 400 million users.
When an Instagram user watching a story with music attached, the song will automatically post. They can also tap on a sticker to see artist and song title information, but the stickers won’t link out to the performer’s own profiles on social media or streaming music platforms.
