Claiming it is the first of its kind, Edison Research has announced its upcoming release of the Latino Podcast Listener Report. Like many Edison survey releases, the report will be exposed in a webinar — two, actually, English and Spanish — scheduled for Tuesday, June 30 at 1pm ET.
The study is supported and sponsored by five business entities: Adonde Media, Lantigua Williams & Co., Libsyn, NPR, and Pandora.
Edison is spicing the announcement with a teaser: Sixty-one percent of U.S. Latinos age 18+ are familiar with the term podcasting, compared to 75% of the total U.S. 18+ population. The Latino Podcast Listening Report will reveal how many Latinos in the U.S. are listening to English and Spanish language podcasts and will highlight the increase in interest among the Latino population.
The report will include findings on the current listening habits of U.S. Latino monthly podcast listeners and their perceptions of the podcast medium. The webinars will be presented by Gabriel Soto, Manager of Research at Edison Research, and Martina Castro, CEO of Adonde Media. Edison will release English and Spanish versions of the report after the webinars.
