Music rights organization BMI has entered a partnership with iBiquity, the developer of HD Radio. The two parties will launch a new program called the HD Radio Artist Spotlight, which is intended to help promote new artists and support established ones on tour. The spotlight’s launch will focus on five of BMI’s country music acts.
iBiquity has collaborated with BMI before as a partner in songwriter festivals and other broadcaster events. The company released data about HD Radio’s usage in April, noting that 16.5 million equipped cars were out on roads and 2,200 U.S. radio stations transmit in HD digital.
