Podcast company ART19 announced that New York Media has joined its client roster. The publisher will work with ART19 for hosting and monetization in its podcast lineup, including its back catalog.
New York Media recently acquired comedy website Splitsider and has integrated it into its existing Vulture property. CEO Pam Wasserstein said that New York Media is working to become “the leading source for all things comedy” and podcasting will be a part of that effort. The company’s other media properties include New York Magazine, the Cut, Grub Street.
“We’re making a big bet on comedy,” New York Media’s Chief Product Officer Daniel Hallac said. “ART19’s technology will allow us to leverage our significant back catalog as well as new series we’ll be launching on the platform.”
“Comedy is a big part of our origin story,” said Roddy Swearngin, ART19’s president of content. “The company was founded to solve problems comedy podcasters were having monetizing their rapidly growing audiences. New York Media and Vulture are raising the bar and we’re thrilled to be a part of their strategy.”
