Apple Music has reportedly signed up more than 10 million people in its first month. The data point comes from Hits, which credited unnamed sources from major labels. Apple Music is still in its free trial stage for any listeners, so these alleged millions haven’t yet paid for the service.
Apple is notoriously quiet on releasing hard numbers when it doesn’t have to. In fact, at its quarterly earnings call, the only data point CEO Tim Cook shared was that more than 15,000 artists have signed on for the Connect social features. We’ll have to wait another quarter or two to hopefully learn what the numbers are once listeners start paying the subscription rates.
