Acast Open will offer hosting tools to podcasters of all sizes and scopes

Podcast company Acast announced that it is making its hosting engine available to podcasters of any size. The company’s new service is called Acast Open, at it brings many features of its hosting tools to a wider potential audience.

Acast Open will offer three service tiers, including a free option with the most basic tools. An Influencer tier offers extra tools such as more advanced analytics and unlimited episodes/downloads, and the Ace level adds on episode transcriptions, a publishing API, and advanced support. It will be available at launch in English and French, with additional language support to follow.

“Acast is the only truly global, end-to-end podcast platform that can take creators from bedroom heroes to worldwide success stories. Now we’re putting the same tools we’ve built for the world’s biggest and best podcasts and publishers into the hands of every podcaster on the planet,” said Acast Co-founder and CPTO Johan Billgren. “With Acast Open we’re combining the simplest, smartest way to host and share your show with the might of the world’s biggest podcast company.”

This new service builds on the technology from Pippa, which Acast acquired and has now integrated into its own platform. Pippa has officially closed, and its former users have automatically been migrated to the Acast Open system.

Acast will continue to offer its Pro Service to established industry operations or shows with more than 10,000 weekly listens.
