Pandora’s Thumbprint Radio has 5.5 billion spins

pandora-thumbprint-radio-canvasPandora’s Thumbprint Radio has racked up more than 5.5 billion spins. The personalized station, which debuted in December 2015, plays the tracks a listener has thumbed-up over time and includes recommendations based on those preferences. More than 153,000 artists have been played in the course of 373 million hours listened. According to the blog post with the updates, 20 million people are tuning in to their Thumbprint stations, and 7.4 million of them are in the 13-24 age group.

Thumbprint Radio is Pandora’s counterpart to the algorithm-driven recommendations Spotify delivers with Discover Weekly. Several streaming services have debuted similar discovery-centric products, and generally they appear to be performing well among listeners.
