Warner Music Group has made another addition to its digital team, this time focused on the role of playlists in today’s streaming music industry. Michael Steele has been hired as the label’s director of playlist programming and curation. In this capacity, he will be tasked with overseeing custom playlists for the label’s artists on all major streaming platforms.
Steele joins the label from ad agency Pop2Life, where he focused on music integration in experiential campaigns. He also has a long history in radio, serving in multiple roles for Los Angeles stations.
