As YouTube has risen to prominence as a music discovery tool, more businesses are looking to get involved with finding and developing its vast talent pool. One of those businesses is PopShack, a multi-channel network that aims to support the best up-and-coming pop performers. PopShack continues to grow with the addition of former Warner Music exec Conrad Withey as its CEO.
Withey will still have ties to Warner Music UK, with PopShack serving as a consultant on some of the company’s new projects. PopShack will also use Warner’s ADA distribution business for its artists. “YouTube has become the number one network for music discovery across the globe and the PopShack business is focused on finding and developing a new generation of ‘native’ artists breaking via the platform,” Withey said.
