TuneIn readies NCAA basketball coverage, will add a new feature

basketballAs NCAA men’s basketball season comes upon us, TuneIn is sending a reminder that it is the exclusive distribution app for streaming the games through its Westwood One partnership — every game in the tournament. Coverage begins this weekend with Selection Sunday, and concludes with the National Championship on April 6.

Last year, TuneIn measured 1.2-million listening hours during its NCAA men’s basketball coverage.

A TuneIn spokesperson told RAIN News that a new feature will arrive this year: an interactive tournament bracket. We are told it will be audio-enabled and shareable to friends. TuneIn will officially announce the bracket next week.

TuneIn has doubled down, and tripled down, on sports coverage in the last year. Highlights:

  1. TuneIn pushes sports advantage with IMG deal (football)
  2. Coverage of the final World Cup game in Brazil
  3. March Madness streaming results
  4. NCAA basketball with Westwood One
