7 new shows in Triton’s 150-pod U.S. ranker. None higher than #64

Triton Digital released its monthly US Podcast Ranker for July 2024, representing measurement from July 1 through July 28. (Triton rankers use 28-day months.)

Triton’s rankers include clients that opt in to its measurement service; it is not an all-industry measurement.

NPR News Now is the perennial top podcast in this ranking of 150 shows. It holds that spot for average weekly downloads and average weekly users.

In the Top Sales Networks list, though, iHeartaudience Network claims #1 while NPR is third. SiriusXO Podcast Network is #2 in that setting.

It’s important to note that NPR News Now  is an hourly show, so it accumulates metrics at a much accelerated pace compared to weekly and daily shows. The #2 show, Up First, enjoys the download volume of a daily production schedule, so also carries a ranking advantage.

Triton’s ranker is actually two rankers: One for podcast shows, and one for podcast sales networks. Flipping over to the latter in Triton’s interactive presentation (which is HERE) we see iHeart Sales Network at the top, with NPR in the #3 spot (+1 from the June ranker). SiriusXM Podcast Network holds down #2.

Triton’s list is a difficult one for podcasts to break into. In the 150-show roster of July’s list, only seven shows debuted to the list, none higher than #64. They are:

  • Cancelled with Tana Mongeau (#64)
  • Bongino Report Early Edition ith Evita (#65)
  • Dateline: Missing in America (#114)
  • The Steve Harvey Morning Show (#121)
  • Embedded (#136)
  • The Buck Sexton Show (#143)
  • Sean Parnell Battleground Podcast (#147)

As always we recommend Triton’s live-web interactive list which can be sorted in many ways. It is HERE. Below is the top-ten portion of the 150-line ranker.
