Singapore posted a recent record in music revenue, according to the IFPI. The country saw 2017 music sales of $27.9 million, the highest total of the past five years. Digital revenue has steadily risen since 2013, with streaming responsible for much of the growth. Streaming revenue in 2017 was $15.77 million. Paid subscriptions and video streaming were major factors, responsible for 68% of Singapore’s overall revenue growth.
Physical revenue has taken the opposite trajectory, declining each year since 2013. Physical revenue was cut in half for 2017 compared with the previous year for a total of $533,000.
