Stitcher adds $3-million funding of its podcast app

Stitcher, a leading podcast-listening app, raised $3-million dollars in new funding, according to CrunchBase. VentureBeat points to an SEC filing indicating that Stitcher’s offering to venture capitalists is $5.1-million, of which $3-million was sold. $2.1-million is “Remaining to be Sold,” according to the filing.

Stitcher was founded in 2008, and was named on of the 50 best iPhone apps of 2013 by TIME magazine. the Android app has been downloaded over one-million times. Apple has included Stitcher as the only non-music streaming app in its CarPlay system rolling out this year.
