SoundCloud hires former Sony exec as global head of music

SoundCloud has hired Lisa Ellis as its new global head of music and artist relations. She will head up the artist and label services team for the audio company, and will help artists, managers, and labels to grow on the platform.

Ellis was most recently working in private equity and venture capital. She joins SoundCloud from holding company Provenance Ventures, where she will continue in an advisory role. Earlier in her career, Ellis spent 14 years at Sony Music Entertainment, where she role to an executive vice president position.
