SiriusXM 2024 financials: Slight revenue loss across the board

SiriusXM released its full-year finance comparisons, for the organization as a whole, and its Pandora streaming music subsidiary. The report offers both full-year and Q4 2024 numbers. Here, we focus on the full-year picture. (See the public release of everything HERE.)

The headline finding is slight revenue loss for both periods. TheSiriusXM accounting is separated into four buckets:

  • Subscriber revenue (consumer payments to receive services)
  • Advertising revenue (for non-subscriber services, mainly the ad-supported part of Pandora)
  • Equipment Revenue (receivers)
  • Other revenue

Pandora / reporting shows just subscriber and advertiser revenue.

Most of the money is piled into SiriusXM. As seen in the breakout below, the SiriusXM service dropped four percent of 2023 revenue:

Pandora’s financials dropped fewer calories than SiriusXM, reporting a one-percent loss:

Alongside the numbers, he company brags about strengthening engagement through programming and strategic relationships. Those initiatives contained exclusive artist channels, holiday specials, and expanded content across all buckets of musit, sports, and talk.

The public financials release also notes strategic relationships with ESPN, Rivian, and Tesla.
