Sirius XM shares subscriber stats ahead of 2018 financial reports

Sirius XM announced that it closed 2018 with about 28.9 million self-pay subscribers. Adding about 1.4 million self-pay subscribers helped the satellite radio company to exceed its previous subscriber guidance for 2-18 by about 40%. Sirius XM posted about 1.3 total net subscriber additions during the year to bring its total paid subscribers to about 34 million by the year’s end.

Along with the latest subscriber updates, Sirius XM also shared updates to its financial guidance. The company said it expects to meet or exceed its 2018 guidance for revenue, adjusted EBITDA, and free cash flow. It also set its expectations for financial performance in 2019. Sirius XM said it anticipates self-pay net additions approaching 1 million this year. It also projected that total revenue will be approximately $6.1 billion with adjusted EBITDA of about $2.3 billion.
