Podtrac has posted its list of the top 20 podcasts for September 2018. The chart is ranked based on internal data for shows that are Podtrac clients and by publicly available data used in the company’s algorithms for non-clients.
September features another new top podcast after a shuffle in August. Serial took the top honors for the month on the strength of the third season debut. The New York Times’ The Daily took the second spot, followed by frequent chart-topper This American Life in third. True crime was a big mover for September, with Wondery projects Dr. Death and Sword and Scale both securing spots on the ranker. The Joe Rogan Experience dropped off the list for the month, as did The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe.
