Jottings of note:

Long For The Win

In a recent Bloomberg newsletter, respected podcast observer and analyst Ashley Carman notes: “Listening to podcast interviews is turning into an endurance sport.” While The Joe Rogan Experience is the reputational leader in marathon podcasting, it wasn’t difficult for Carman to find other examples more outrageous than the typical three-hour Rogan convo: Lix Fridman published a nine-hour conversation with Elon Musk. In fact, the interview / conversation format is particularly long-winded. (Seven Bartlett, host of Diary of a CEO and keynoter of the recent Podcast Moement conference, unleashed a four-hour conversation ith Andrew Huberman, himself a long-form conversational podcaster.) Marathon podcasts are sometimes called “conversational audiobooks.” Ashley Carman’s point, beyond counting hours, is the success of endurance listening The Musk episode collected 3.3 million YouTube views. Huberman gor 1.2 million.Completion percentages are impressive, too. Much more info and takeaway in this fascinating column, which you read HERE.
