In February 2020, we called the Podtrac Top Podcasts ranker “business as usual.” The same characterization remains a year later.
We compared Podtrac’s recently released Top Podcasts list for February 2021 with the year-ago list. Fifteen of the shows remain the same, with four of the top five retaining their positions. (The ranker is based on U.S. unique monthly audience, and measures Podtrac measurement clients only — the measurement service is free to join.)
Below is a visual comparison of the two lists. Red highlights indicate shows from the 2020 list which do not appear in the 2021 list. Green highlights indicate 2021 shows which did not appear in 2020. (The green highlights are not necessarily new to the ranker; they are highlighted in this particular year-to-year comparison.)
