Blubrry teased a new ad-insertion feature to dynamically put advertisements in future and already published podcast episodes. The podcast company said this feature is currently being tested and will roll out “very soon” to its pro hosting customers.
Once the feature is live, podcasters using Blubrry will be able to set up ad campaigns with pre-roll, midroll, and post-roll ads to be inserted at particular time frames in an episode. Blubrry said it expects to add a geo-targeting option in the summer. The feature will help podcasters continue to monetize their early content from before they had sponsors after the fact as their work gains popularity.
