A new tool for podcast creators has entered the field. The Podcard is an online media card which emblemizes and summarizes, brands, and links to a show’s landing page. It is also playable media, so recipients can listen to a show and hit a big Follow button to subscribe.
For podcasters, it is a piece of interactive promotional collateral. More than that, the Podcard is attached to an analytics engine that delivers usage metrics to the podcaster. The card traces each listener journey from discovery to listening — in any podcast app.
Interestingly, the podcard feeds back metrics to its users. We asked Podcards founder Timothy Voice about those metrics. His reply:
“A Podcard is a customizable and sharable media card where visitors can listen to the podcast, play episodes and share. All these events are tracked and fed back into our analytics engine where they are integrated with data we collect through our prefix and other sources. This gives us the ability to trace the listener journey all the way from when they first discover the podcast to when they listen in any podcast app. We can show podcasters where new listeners are coming from (Instagram, YouTube, a newsletter, their own websites etc.), what episodes are driving new follows, and various other metrics like listener retention, and cost per listener acquisition if they are running paid campaigns.” –Timothy Voice, Founder, Podcards
Podcards intends to “revolutionize the way podcasts reach and engage with their audience,” according tothe information we received. The website is HERE (pod.cards), not related to podcard.com
