Spotify has announced two changes to its team. First, it has hired M&A specialist Sheila Spence. Her role at the streaming service will be vice president of corporate development, and is slated to begin on May 30. Bringing an acquisitions expert into the fold signifies that the company plans to continue making more purchases. It has already announced four acquisitions so far this year.
The other personnel change is the departure of product director Matthew Ogle. He spearheaded the launch of the Discover Weekly feature, which pulls from Spotify’s listener data stores to deliver a 30-song playlist of recommended songs to each of its users. Ogle will be taking a position with Facebook-owned photo-sharing service Instagram.
