Podtrac released its February 2017 podcast publisher rankings. Last month registered a big change to the placements with the debut of The New York Times at No. 7. The journalism outfit’s eight active shows pulled in a U.S. unique monthly audience of 1.44 million. TWiT fell out of the top 10, but all the other names on the list are unchanged from January. The placements of the top six also stayed the same, although The Moth dropped from seventh to ninth.
Unique audience and global downloads stayed roughly level from January into February. For the top 10 publishers, total global unique streams and downloads dropped from 194 million in January to 183 million in February.
The Podtrac rankings only reflect those publishers that used the company’s measurement tools for the entire month covered.
