Mark Williamson has departed his role as global head of artist and industry partnerships at Spotify. Williamson had been at the streaming service since 2011, rising through the ranks of leadership working with artists, managers, and music executives. During his tenure, he also worked closely with Troy Carter as part of Spotify’s creator services leadership team.
“Over the years, as my team and I were out trying to get as many of you as possible to sit down with us, there was no guarantee that the promise of streaming would deliver,” Williamson said in a note to colleagues and industry connections. “I’m grateful that so many of you took the risk, and put aside your concerns, to give us a chance. I hope we’ve made it worth your while.”
Williamson did not share what his next step would be.
