TiVo and iHeartRadio announced a new partnership that will bring the streaming audio platform to the video and TV recording service. The radio application is slated to roll out to TiVo Roamio, TiVo Mini, and TiVo Premiere devices “over the next few weeks,” according to the press release. TiVo will host the familiar suite of iHeartRadio features, including custom and live radio stations, mood-based browsing, and the ability to thumbs-up or thumbs-down a song.
“TiVo offers a dynamic experience in bringing together cable content, streaming video services and the web and we’re proud to partner with them to bring our unparalleled catalogue of live radio stations and personalized, custom stations to their devices,” iHeartRadio President Darren Davis said.
Pairings between TV and music services have been a common trend over the past few months. For instance, Rdio expanded its partnership with Roku in December, while Chromecast recently added TuneIn the month before.
