iHeartRadio at 60-million registered users, claims “top streaming radio app”

iheartradio canvasiHeartMedia released audience metrics for streaming platform iHeartRadio today. The headline statistic is 60-million registered users. With that, iHeart notes that ‘millions of users” also use the platform’s live-radio feature without registering. Additionally, iHeartĀ countsĀ 90-million unique visitors across the iHeartRadio network.

(The company told RAIN News that the 90-million unique visitors is a measurement of app-plus-station-website visits by listeners to radio station webcasts. 90-million uniques is a big number, and while iHeart is not breaking out how many of those visits land on iHeartRadio, it makes sense for a famously platform-agnostic company to measure audience size across silos, if that audience is defined as live webcast users.)

Together, these numbers power iHeartRadio’s claim to being “the industry’s top streaming radio app.”

Also worth noting in today’s announcement is the download count for iHeartRadio’s mobile app, which has surpassed 500-million.

iHeart reiterated its historical growth milestones: 20-million registered users faster than any digital Internet service in history; likewise with 50-million.
