Former Echo Nest biz dev exec departs from Spotify

Shane Tobin is departing his role as Head of Partnerships for Content & Creator at Spotify. Tobin was a business development director at Echo Nest prior to its acquisition by Spotify, and he rose through the ranks since the data-focused company folded into the streaming platform. His next step is for a post as vice president of partnerships and entertainment relations at the UK-based live concert specialist Sofar Sounds. Tobin will be rejoining another former colleague at Sofar; former Spotify and Echo Nest exec Jim Lucchese took over as CEO three months ago.

Spotify has been experiencing a wave of high-level departures over the past year. Most recently, publishing exec Adam Parness left last month and Jonathan Prince, who had held dual VP roles, exited in March.
