Domino.fm offers reading and streaming for serious music fans

Domino.fm canvasWhen it comes to music curation, computers and algorithms can only take you so far. The true music geeks want to have a human touch to their discovery. That’s a niche that new service called Domino.fm aims to fill. The property aggregates content from various music press outlets, and gives fans a place to both read articles and listen to the songs they’re about at the same time.

The music selections are powered by Rdio and SoundCloud, with Bandcamp and YouTube widgets from articles also available. At this date, Domino.fm can only be used on mobile browsers. The team is working on mobile apps and may eventually add a desktop version, according to their FAQ.

We planned to give this service a full Test Drive, but after signing up, we were disappointed to find that nothing would play. We’re looking forward to giving Domino.fm a more thorough look once the launch bugs are smoothed out.
