Chris Bannon, ex-Stitcher, joins Conde Nast as Head of Global Audio

Chris Bannon, who was Chief Content Officer at Stitcher from 2015 to 2020, has been hired by Conde Nast Entertainment as SVP and Head of Global Audio. CNE currently produces 40 podcasts, and Bannon’s purview will be to expand that portfolio and internationalize it.

Bannon will report to Agnes Chu, President of CNE. “Chris’ leadership, impeccable creative instincts and optimistic approach to audio storytelling has entertained audiences for over two decades,” Chu, formerly VP of content for Disney Plus, said in announcing Bannon’s hire. “I look forward to his impact as we build out our best in class podcast slate to deliver on our iconic brands.”

Stitcher was acquired by SiriusXM in October 2020 (RAIN coverage here), and Bannon left the group shortly after. Before his role at Stitcher, Bannon was VP of Content at WNYC. (Bannon and Stitcher CRO Sarah van Mosel both spent time at WNYC.)
