CD Baby hires for more international growth

Independent music company CD Baby is embarking on a global expansion with several new hires in Latin America, Asia Pacific, Canada, the UK, and the EU. These new regional specialists will be responsible for increasing CD Baby’s existing presence or putting new roots down.

The new hires are Henriette Heimdal in London, Darryl Hurs for the Canadian operations, and Johanna Rivera in Colombia. In addition, Keith Tan has been hired to open CD Baby’s first Asian office.

Alongside the new regional leadership, CD Baby is launching a series of Artist Support Centers that will offer detailed advice about the particular markets. These operations will offer insight in local languages and add a new level to CD Baby’s relationships with local music infrastructure. The UK will have the first center, due to roll out in the coming months.

“CD Baby is committed to becoming a global leader and to serving independent artists around the world. We need to be present where the artists are, and to provide artists everywhere the ability to get support and access to our services the way our US artists do,” said Heli Del Moral, VP for international development for CD Baby. “We feel it is very important to be physically present in these regions. To this end, we are expanding our global team with industry professionals who believe deeply in our vision and share our passion for indie artists.”
