Bose is hiring a cloud music services exec; will it join the streaming sector?

Bose canvasBose may be positioning itself to move beyond the hardware realm and add a listening service to its catalog. Hypebot has unearthed a job posting for a Senior User Experience Designer: Cloud Music Services at the respected sound company. The description calls for somebody who will “lead design and prototyping of our next generation streaming music platform and ecosystem of products.” According to the post, the ideal candidate would have work experience at one of the many streaming music companies dominating the digital airwaves.

This could indicate that Bose is looking to enter the streaming music field with a proprietary platform. Or it could be a sign that the company may be interested in pursuing further partnerships like the one it has with Deezer. Several other streaming services – Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Pandora – are also available on Bose’s current suite of WiFi music systems. It’s possible this is just an effort to improve those experiences, which would be a better fit for Bose’s existing expertise. However, if the company did choose to enter streaming, we can guess that it’d sound great.
