Audioboom (re)-launches Audioboom Studios; Brendan Regan to lead it

Audioboom announces the launch of Audioboom Studios as of October 1, reminding us of what we thought was a long-standing production arm of the company (see here). Whether revived, continued, or reinvented, Brendan Regan will run it — he is formerly Executive Vice President, Global Content & Production, and he picks up a new C-level title: Chief Content Officer.

Regan has been with Audioboom for seven years. Before that was a stint at Viacom, and before that he wrote for Saturday Night Live.

The company says Audioboom Studios will encompass a full creative and business spectrum of original show development, co-productions, branded content, production services, and creative advertising services. At launch, the unit currently produces the official Formula 1 podcasts F1: Beyond The Grid and F1 Nation, plus the recently launched The FBoy Podcast.

A new show called Methods of Murder will be the first new original shows targeted to the UK market under the Audioboom Studios banner. Six more podcasts are in development with 2022 launch timelines.

Two other execs join the effort: Mike Newman is promoted to Vice President, UK Content & Production, and Neil Fearn joins as Executive Producer. Fearn comes to Audioboom from Radio X.

“The launch of our production arm in the UK is an important step in our goal to become the leading British podcast creator,” says Stuart Last, CEO. “Our show development process will be supported by the significant level of audience insight that we capture through our platform. I’m pleased to have a talented team of leaders in place to take Audioboom Studios forward.”
