Audacy asserts the star-making power of radio with “Launch” program

Audacy has started an artist discovery and promotion project called Launch, intending to boost careers of selected musicians. Three beneficiaries are selected.

The first is Jelly Roll, a country performer who won the Country Music Television (CMT) Music Award three times.

His latest single is Need A Favor, which will be featured across Audacy’s Hot AC stations. The company’s screening process included “hearing dozens of new songs and artists during label/manager/artist meetings in Nashville.” After that process Jelly Roll’s single Son of a Sinner was added to rotations, helping to lift the single to the #1 position across multiple formats, and helping the artists sell out his shows across the country.

Similar promotions and results have been achieved with two other selected musicians. Singer Warren Zeiders and his single “Pretty Little Poison” got the same treatment. And the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Rising Star winner, rapper and singer Doechii saw her single “What It Is” featured on the company’s CHR stations across the country.

Along with all this, Audacy will start three new expertly-curated Exclusive Stations on the Audacy app to spotlight artists — they are New Country, New Pop, and New Alternative.
