Apple is having a busy week, adding South Korea to its roster of countries where its streaming service is available. The reaction from the domestic music scene has been lukewarm thus far. “Although we are keeping an eye on the new service, we don’t think Apple Music will be a game changer because they have fewer K-pop songs,” a rep from LOEN Entertainment said. The company runs Melon, the current largest streaming platform for South Korea.
Apple Music has been on a steady march of expansion in the past year, landing in more than 100 countries. It most recently rolled out in Israel.
