Apple Music adjusts album display and adds charts

Apple Music has received a few tweaks that should streamline the user experience. First, its display of albums has been updated. Initially, any and all of an artist’s releases were lumped together in one large group. Now different types are split up for easier browsing. Studio albums, live albums, compilations, and singles & EPs each get their own listing. Major artists also get a special display of Essential Albums that highlights some of the most noteworthy releases.

Second, the streaming service will also present new Top 100 charts. Apple Music is rolling out 116 of these: one with the top tracks globally and one for each country where the service is available. The charts, housed in the Browse tab, will be updated daily at midnight Pacific time. On the user side, these can simply be a fun way to explore musical trends and keep tabs on the latest hits.
