Several streaming services have been adding lyrics features to their core offerings, and Apple appears to be hiring to get those skills in-house. The tech company has a job posted for a Lyrics Curation Manager, someone to lead the lyrics efforts within the Content Curation umbrella. The required qualifications include at least five years of relevant work experience, strong analytical skills, and managerial experience, with experience in writing lyrics listed as a plus.
There are multiple third-party options for outsourcing lyrics capabilities, but Apple has usually been reluctant to work with outsiders when it can attract the talent to its own team. Apple Music received a design overhaul in June to improve the user experience. It seems more changes could be in the works.
