Amazon’s Prime Music launches in Australia

Amazon announced that it has launched Prime Music in Australia. This music streaming service will be available for all new and ongoing Prime memberships in the market. Prime Music includes a library of more than 2 million songs alongside hundreds of curated playlists and stations for particular moods and genres.

“It’s been incredible to see the feedback from customers since launching Amazon Music’s premium tier, Amazon Music Unlimited, for Australia earlier this year,” said David Ray, Amazon’s head of music for Australia and New Zealand. “With today’s launch of Prime Music, we’re excited to deliver another listening experience with Amazon Music built specifically for our Prime members, and to introduce even more ways of discovering and rediscovering music with voice through Alexa at absolutely no additional cost to their Prime membership.”

Amazon launched the Prime membership program in Australia this June. Prime Music is a separate entity from the the full-service Amazon Music Unlimited platform.
