Amazon’s Alexa can speak Spanish with U.S. customers

Amazon has been bringing its Alexa voice assistant to a global audience, and now it is launching an option to better serve the diverse U.S. audience. Starting today, Alexa can speak Spanish in the U.S. Spanish is rolling out to supported devices as a standalone language and in multi-lingual mode.

The update brings the new Spanish voice along with local insights and hundreds of voice skills. U.S. customers can activate Spanish via the Alexa app to start interacting with the voice assistant in that language. Amazon is adding Spanish voice skills for several of its new Latin playlists in Amazon Music.
