This deal means that artists who list their merchandise through Merchbar will have top products automatically populated on their artist page for the streaming service. Merchbar currently has more than 35,000 artists represented.

Spotify had previously used BandPage for that merchandise service; the two inked a tie-up back in August 2014. In announcing the Merchbar deal, the Spotify said it would continue to support BandPage offers through July 20, giving artists time to get listed on the new provider. YouTube purchased BandPage in February.

The streaming company has made several developments in its artist services. It debuted a fan insights dashboard in November 2015. Most recently, it hired Troy Carter for a new role in creator services.
