Spotify amps up live music suggestions with Ticketmaster deal

Spotify logo new color canvasSpotify is embarking on a new addition to its live music tie-ins. The streaming music service will begin emailing users with concert recommendations based on their listening preferences. It also has a partnership with Ticketmaster to have the business’ concert listings appearing in those emails, on artist pages, and in the concerts tab of its home screen. For any shows where seats aren’t sold through Ticketmaster, Spotify will continue working with Songkick for listings.

The company discussed the new developments in a blog post on its newly revamped Spotify Artists website, a resource for performers to make the most of their presence on the streaming platform. “We’ve already been recommending shows to Spotify users within our app, but by increasing the reach and putting recommendations directly in millions of fans’ inboxes, we think we can do much more,” the post said. “Just as before, recommendations will include artists a user follows — so keep growing your follower count for maximum reach.”
