Spotify poaches country programming head from Sirius: Spotify has hired a new head of country music programming, stealing a veteran away from the terrestrial radio. John Marks is leaving his role as senior director of country programming at Sirius XM Radio to take on leadership of the genre at the streaming platform. Marks joins Spotify’s roster of other genre experts: Tuma Basa for hip-hop, Mjeema Pickett for R&B, and Austin Kramer for electronic.

CueSongs licensing specialist hires COO: Luke Vines is the new COO of CueSongs, which offers music licensing services for online and digital media outlets. “In building a new team, I have been very focused on how we deliver relevant commercial music to the millions of professional creators in the YouTube and new media platforms who understand that better commercial music delivers better return on investment for them,” CEO Christina Vaughan said.
